About us
Six years of research, now a certified centre.
The Operations Management Research Centre (OMReC/UFSC) was founded on 21 July 2025 and is officially affiliated with and certified by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), under the founding leadership of Professor Dr Andrei Bonamigo.
What we do
OMReC is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and applied innovation in operations management in industrial and service contexts. Its scope covers the analysis and improvement of production systems, the management of complex service systems, and themes such as performance, value creation, sustainability and digital transformation.
The centre represents the evolution of the former Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Engenharia de Serviços (GEPES — Study and Research Group in Service Engineering), based at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). GEPES earned recognition for its research, teaching and outreach activities focused on industrial service management, particularly in the business-to-business context.

2019
